Composition of REC Members
The Research Ethics Committee (REC) consists of a minimum of five members, representing diverse expertise, professional backgrounds, and community representatives.
Chairperson
Leads the REC and ensures ethical review processes are conducted fairly and effectively.
Layperson
Represents the public perspective and community interests.
Professional Care / Research Expert
Provides expertise in healthcare, counselling, treatment, or relevant research fields.
Religious Representative
Offers ethical, religious and moral guidance from a community or religious perspective.
Lawyer
Ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
